Welcome to Plymouth Academic Gardens, a cornerstone of early childhood education in downtown Plymouth. For more than four decades, our program has inspired curiosity, kindness, and a love of learning in children as they begin their school journey.
About Plymouth Academic Gardens
A Preschool in the Heart of Downtown Plymouth
Plymouth Academic Gardens is a locally owned preschool in the heart of Downtown Plymouth, Michigan. We offer a 3–4 Mixed Preschool Classroom and the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) for eligible 4-year-olds, creating a warm and engaging environment where children build confidence, friendships, and a love of learning.
Our Downtown Plymouth location gives children opportunities to enjoy special experiences throughout the year, including Music in the Park, visits to the Plymouth Police and Fire Departments, trips to the Plymouth District Library, nearby parks, and an occasional ice cream outing. These experiences add something fun and memorable to the school year while helping children become familiar with the community around
Our Approach to Early Learning
We believe preschool should give children the freedom to explore while providing the guidance, routines, and support they need to succeed. Our classrooms combine purposeful play, hands-on activities, small-group instruction, creative expression, and social interaction.
Because every child develops differently, our teachers take time to understand each child’s strengths, interests, and needs. Activities are designed to support children at their current developmental level while gently encouraging them to become more independent, confident, and ready for new challenges.
Working Together With Families
Families know their children best, which is why communication and partnership are an important part of our program. We work closely with parents and caregivers to provide consistency between home and school and to support each child’s development throughout the year.
Whether a child is beginning preschool for the first time or preparing for kindergarten, our goal is for every student to leave Plymouth Academic Gardens feeling capable, curious, and excited about learning.
