At Plymouth Academic Gardens, our 3–4 Mixed Preschool Classroom provides a warm, engaging environment where children learn, play, and grow together. Designed for children ages 3 and 4, this classroom encourages curiosity, independence, creativity, and meaningful friendships through hands-on learning and purposeful play.
Our teachers recognize that every child develops at their own pace. By combining ages, younger children learn through observation and interaction with older classmates, while older children strengthen their confidence and leadership skills by serving as positive role models. Each child is supported with developmentally appropriate activities that meet them where they are while encouraging continued growth.
Throughout the day, children participate in small-group activities, circle time, learning centers, outdoor exploration, art, music, movement, and imaginative play. These experiences help build early literacy, math, science, communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills while fostering a genuine love of learning.
As children grow within our program, they become familiar with the daily routines, teachers, and school environment, creating a strong foundation for kindergarten readiness. For families whose children qualify for the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), our mixed preschool classroom can also provide a smooth transition into the GSRP classroom. Families who prefer a more flexible schedule may also choose to remain in our tuition-based preschool program, which offers both half-day and full-day enrollment options.
